download

Download an App's data as it is now: one .tar.gz file of everything on its disk.

The tool of basemodo download, on the local MCP and the remote one. It changes things, so an agent's client may ask you before it runs.

The Data Download holds every file of the App's volume under data/, its database (data/app.db) copied by SQLite's online backup, so it is consistent even while the App writes; open it with any SQLite tool. It is written as <app>-data-<date>.tar.gz in the current folder, or where --out says. A sleeping App is woken for it. Only the App's Owner downloads it, also for the 30 days an App's data is kept after its Plan ended; an App held for a Review cannot be downloaded until the Review ends. A Backup is not downloaded: it is restored (basemodo restore). On the Remote MCP, which has no folder, nothing is written: it answers the App's Backups page on basemodo.com, where its Owner downloads it.

Arguments

  • app (text): The App whose data to download. Default: the one named after the current folder.
  • out (text): Where to write the file: a file's path, or a folder to write <app>-data-<date>.tar.gz in. Default: that name in the current folder.

On the remote MCP

The remote MCP has no folder of yours, so there the tool works this way.

Answer the link to an App's Backups page, where its Owner downloads its data.

There is no folder here to write the Data Download to, so nothing is downloaded: give the person the link (url), the App's Backups page on basemodo.com, whose Download the data gives the same .tar.gz basemodo download writes: everything on the App's disk under data/, its database (data/app.db) as SQLite's online backup made it. Only the App's Owner downloads it; an Editor gets owner_only.

Its arguments there:

  • app (text, required): The App whose data to download.

It does not take out.

Answer

It answers {"app", "path", "size_bytes"}. On the Remote MCP: {"app", "url"}, the App's Backups page. An Editor is refused with code owner_only; an App held for a Review, or whose data is no longer kept, with code app_paused and its reason.
